About Our Carnival

The 2018 VACSAL Senior Aboriginal Football & Netball Carnival is a three-day event from the 12th-14th October 2018. The Opening will be held on Friday night at 6pm at the Mars Stadium. The aim of the event is to bring together the Victorian Aboriginal community and promote a healthy lifestyle!

The Carnival is a statewide celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and pride.

BADAC (Ballarat and District Aboriginal Co-operative) was selected to hold the event in 2017 and 2018 in Ballarat, bringing competitors, families and friends to visit, stay, and experience Ballarat from across Victoria.

Football and Netball teams will be coming to Ballarat to compete in round robin-type events and family and friends come to cheer them on and enjoy the day. In addition to displays of sporting prowess, the carnival will have workshops, children's activities such as gymnastics and face-painting, food stalls and merchandise.
